Consists of letters, cards, and telegrams from Odets to New York Post columnist Leonard Lyons. They relate chiefly to Odets's activities in Hollywood and to family matters. Several items are addressed to both Leonard and his wife Sylvia and two of the letters are to their son, Warren.

Leonard Lyons, born Leonard Sucher, September 10, 1906, New York, New York, attended the City College of New York from 1924 to 1925, and received his Bachelor of Law degree from St. John's University College of Law in 1928. He was admitted to the New York Bar the same year, then to the Federal Bar in 1929, practicing law in New York City from 1929 to 1934. He married Sylvia R. Schonberger on November 29, 1934.
